Volunteer Opportunities at Pepper’s
Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers often tell us how much they appreciate the opportunity to come to Pepper’s to help care for our dogs while receiving love in return and leaving each time with a greater sense of purpose.
They appreciate being able to make connections with a favorite furry friend, while building a community of support among staff and other volunteers.
Volunteer opportunities include keeping our sanctuary in high standards of cleanliness, helping to prepare meals, walking, reading and playing with the dogs, assisting with administrative and development tasks, setting up for events, and more! Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check. Volunteers must attend orientation and complete a shadow session prior to scheduling their first shift.

Corporate Volunteer Opportunities
At Pepper’s, we offer unique employee engagement opportunities that align with corporate social responsibility goals beyond the welfare of animals.
Your employees can make a direct impact on the well-being of rescued dogs who are bettering the lives of vulnerable community members. Boost your company morale while promoting a culture of compassion and teamwork within your organization.

Corporate Volunteer Groups
-
We are so excited your team is considering coming to assist with facility needs, as well as receiving some senior dog snuggles! Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary provides a safe and loving environment for senior dogs who may have been overlooked by others. These dogs often face significant health challenges and need specialized care, including medical treatments, rehabilitation, and social training.
To ensure we can continue providing impactful experiences without diverting resources from our very busy staff, PSDS is implementing a sponsorship model for our corporate group volunteers. We have an overwhelming amount of corporate requests each month and this ensures that we can offer an impactful, staff guided volunteer experience without pulling existing resources away from our standard day- to- day operations, while also generating funds to support our mission.
-
Your team will get an in-depth tour of the PSDS property. Following the tour you will participate in tasks that keep our sanctuary running smoothly and help create a more comfortable, enriching environment for our senior dogs. This could entail deep cleaning of bedrooms or the dog park, landscape cleanup or additions, etc. You will wrap up the day getting those senior dog snuggles!
-
While we are deeply grateful for every volunteer, corporate group volunteering requires significantly more attention from our already busy staff. It takes schedules being adjusted, more supplies on site, and significant planning & coordination from multiple PSDS team members.
This sponsorship model allows us to:
Ensure you get the highest quality experience and the fully devoted time of your PSDS guide.
Offsets costs related to staff time, materials, and animal care.
Maximizing the impact of your organization to ours financially and in service.
Create a meaningful dual-impact opportunity: hands-on help + financial support.
Acknowledge the value of staff time and resources.
